Every fall, we Ikedas manage to get our minds set on costumes that aren't readily available at the party store. That's when we flex our mighty (and mighty peculiar) costume-making muscles. (If only we could harness these powers for a greater good....)

 
 

It all started with 4-year-old Sawyer's "Jet Car Robot" sketch and his Montessori preschool request for non-candy class Valentines. Ever since, the kids have been eager to design, cut, fold, paste, and assemble clever treat offerings for Cupid's big day.

 
 

Between our own party-throwing prowess and our "in" with two of the finest children's entertainers of all time—our very own Uncle Brook and Auntie Kim—we've earned a bit of a reputation with the kids in town!
